I am not sure I would categorize all of these as true “fantasy” movies, but it is interesting to see how diverse the genre really is when it comes to the highest grossing fantasy movies of all time.
Admittedly, I haven’t seen all of these, but for the ones I have seen, it doesn’t surprise me how popular they are. I still really enjoy reading a great book and then seeing how it is adapted for the screen. I know it’s impossible to get all of the details of a book into a 2-3 hour movie, but I think, for the most part, the screenwriters do a fantastic job.
